Each of the 166 organic and 17 synthetic species living in the Galaxy has a unique set of needs, tolerances, and dispositions. Each of the 1,209,763,340 inhabited and habitable planets has distinct environments and regulations. The Milky Way Migration Bureau (MWMB for short) is the organization that administrates cross-world migration in the Galaxy. The application process for a habitation permit has been standardized and streamlined for convenience. For any migration longer than 5 standard cycles, the following needs to be presented at a migration office to ensure smooth proceedings:
Personal Information Form, along with
- original and copy of personal identification card, chip, or organ;
- personal migration license if the applicant is living on a travel-restricted world;
- judicial records in 3 copies from the past 20 standard cycles;
- kinship matrix to the second degree (if applicable);
- mark of approval countersigned by a representative of an officially recognized sovereign authority.
General Migration Purpose Form, along with
- a resumé written, recorded, chemically preserved, or psychically imprinted;
- proof of ownership or proof of residence concerning the indicated destination residence;
- economic benefits estimate for the next 55 standard cycles;
- a full record of employment and educational history;
- proof of employment if already employed on the destination world;
- resource exploitation permit for the exploitation class of the destination world (if applicable).
Special and Personal Habitational Requirements Form, along with
- genetic survey (type A1 or type B3) or proof of synthetic authenticity;
- biological characteristics survey or base model description;
- modification and repair records (medical, mechanical, or both);
- daily power usage estimate based on the past 3 standard cycles;
- summary of personal supplementary needs;
- cultural, biological, and psychic incompatibility statement in 2 copies.
The application process can take 1-2 standard cycles to complete, so extremely short-lived species are discouraged from cross-world migration. Alternatively, they are advised to hibernate until a decision is made in their case. Classified proceedings can be requested in special circumstances, such as political asylum or secret missions. Unauthorized migratory activities are punishable with deportation and a fine of 3.45-6.65 kilocredits.
